3D-printed replacement shapes for "The Burden"(VIDEO)
Replacement animation for the awardwinning "The Burden" (Min Börda) by Niki Lindroth von Bahr.
Niki had a a musical scene with 8 apes to animate. Instead of sculpting 8 similar apes and 12 x 8 blend shapes, I scanned Niki's sculpted head and expressions. In Zbrush I fixed the fitting for the head and shapes and sculpted some more expressions. When done I 3D printed it all out.
To make it easier and more fun for the animator, I designed and printed out a box in wood filament for all the heads and replacement shapes.
